- otherworldly namib desert -

Mars like Namib dunes, Namibia 2021.
My biggest dream is to fly into space and set foot on an alien planet. Unfortunately, however, I will probably be stuck on Earth for a while. This time I spend touring otherworldly motifs on our planet for my current project with the working title "Extraterra".

One of these motifs were the red dunes of the ancient Namib Desert in Namibia. These are the perfect earthly counterpart to the planet Mars. Depending on the position of the sun, the dunes shine in all shades of red: from bright orange-red to a very dark brown-red and are thus very similar to the surface of Mars. Even the origin of the colors is identical in both cases, it is due to the oxidation of iron, i.e. rust.
